Our Therapy
Depression & Anxiety
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Trauma & PTSD
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Relationships
Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held with both couples and is a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship.
About the owner
Rashida Ellis Winslow, MA, LCPC, LPC
Rashida Ellis Winslow has more than 20 years’ experience treating individuals with mental health issues, and has a special interest in mood disorders, trauma, grief and loss, stress management, self-care practices and resolving the underlying issues that lead to maladaptive behaviors. Rashida has a history of working with high-risk and vulnerable populations both through community-based treatment as well as in outpatient and residential settings. She also has experience working with individuals with co-occurring diagnosis to include mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance misuse and addiction.
Rashida’s training includes several evidence-based treatment approaches, including Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Multisystemic Therapy (MST). In addition to her tenure as a clinical practitioner, Rashida has held leadership positions within a large managed care organization, focusing her work on improving cross systems collaboration to advance positive outcomes for youth and adults. In recent history, Rashida served as the Senior Clinical Director within the public mental health system, overseeing the day to day operations of an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic and Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program. Currently, she operates her own private practice serving residents in the Maryland and Washington, DC area.
Rashida is passionate about utilizing her extensive knowledge of best practices within mental health systems of care to promote the reduction of stigma associated with seeking and receiving mental health services, and is continually seeking new ways to eliminate barriers to accessing needed services. Rashida is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state o Maryland and in the District of Columbia. She has her Masters of Arts from Drexel University and Advanced Graduate Studies Certificate from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, both located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Rashida resides in her hometown of Prince George's County, Maryland.
